Chemicals Management
The Global Framework on Chemicals (GFC) adopted in 2023 is a new framework for international chemicals management targeting 2030. The purpose is to protect the environment and human health, and prevent or, where prevention is not feasible, minimize adverse effects from chemicals and waste.
Based on the GFC, the Mitsubishi Chemical Group strives to protect the health and safety of all people involved in our business activities and minimize environmental impact throughtout the product life cycle.
Approach and Policy
MCG Group Product Safety Global Policy
- We analyze the impact of products we handle on health, safety, the environment, and other elements throughout the product lifecycle and engage in activities aimed at minimizing risk.
- We comply with laws, regulations, agreements, and other rules relating to management of the chemicals we handle, and provide information for using the products safely.
- We consistently check information on the safety of the raw materials used and support sustainable product development.
Core Measures
Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation Initiatives
As product stewardship initiatives, we will further strengthen the product risk assessments, which we conduct from the R&D stage throughout the product life cycle, to ensure the products we manufacture and supply are safe for their intended use and in doing so do not cause harm to human health or the environment. This includes the commitment to reducing exposure to substances considered to be of very high concern.
