Transfer of Shares of MCC Sports Co., Ltd.

Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Manabu Chikumoto; hereinafter “MCC”) hereby announces that it has agreed to transfer all shares of its wholly-owned subsidiary, MCC Sports Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Hideo Iwano; hereinafter “MCC Sports”) to The Nippon Road Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Toshiyuki Ishii; hereinafter “Nippon Road”), with which it signed a definitive agreement to that effect on June 30, 2025.
 

1. Background and objectives

Since its establishment in 1976 as Astro Gelande Corporation, MCC Sports has been a pioneer of artificial turf in Japan, providing artificial turf for sports facilities through an integrated system extending from research and development to manufacturing, sales, and installation. As the product of extensive knowledge and high quality accrued over many years, MCC Sports' artificial turf has earned high regard among athletes and other users.
In the course of reforming its business portfolio based on the Mitsubishi Chemical Group's New Medium-Term Management Plan 2029 announced in November 2024, MCC has determined that the best way for MCC Sports to achieve further growth and development is to expand its business domain and strengthen its competitiveness under optimal ownership, and it has accordingly decided to transfer all shares of MCC Sports to Nippon Road.
