Initiatives of the Ethical Review Committee
In conducting medical and biological research involving human subjects, careful ethical consideration is required for matters such as obtaining appropriate informed consent, reducing the burden on research subjects who provide specimens and information, and protecting personal information.
Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation has established the Ethical Review Committee for Human Tissue Research, etc. of Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation as an ethical review committee in compliance with the Ethical Guidelines for Medical and Biological Research Involving Human Subjects (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology; Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare; Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry). This committee carefully reviews whether the human rights of providers of specimens and information are safeguarded, the dignity of life is respected, and the research under review is conducted in a legally, ethically, and socially appropriate manner.
To ensure the fairness and impartiality of the review process, we invite external members to serve on the committee, thereby establishing a system that respects diverse perspectives and enables a fair review. In addition, we strive to ensure transparency by disclosing a list of committee members, operating provisions, and summaries of proceedings through the Ethical Review Committee Reporting System established by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.
