Optimal Global Placement and Promotion of Human Resources
The Mitsubishi Chemical Group’s global workforce consists of approximately 60,000 people with diverse knowledge and experience, from among whom we promote measures to select, develop, and appoint candidates for the next generation of leaders who will drive our business into the future. We have thus redefined the talent requirements for leadership roles, created a pool of potential candidates, and formulated and implemented individual career development plans based on discussions among management executives, aiming to build a robust talent pipeline.
We also engage in various initiatives to achieve the optimal global placement of human resources. We are, for example, developing a Groupwide platform to centrally visualize human resource information from across the globe and standardizing policies on employee compensation, transfers, and assignments, thereby establishing a foundation for human resource utilization that transcends national and regional boundaries.

Management executive development programs
Aiming to develop talented human resources who will drive business transformation and growth, we have established the Executive Leadership Development Program (ELDP) and the Terakoya (a Japanese term for ‘place of learning’) program as top-level programs for developing management executives.
In the ELDP, modules from top-tier business schools are incorporated into the curriculum and customized specifically for the Group, helping future leaders acquire the knowledge and leadership skills necessary to thrive on the global stage.
As part of the Terakoya program, future leaders learn from experienced executives and experts from other companies, thereby fostering the spirit, sense of accountability, and commitment to fulfilling social responsibilities expected of executives. Through exposure to external perspectives and insight, participants gain the broad perspective and the flexible thinking skills required of future executives.
Establishment of a human resource platform
In fiscal 2024, we began operating a new human resource platform that centrally manages information on Group employees, organizations, positions, and duties. This system allows us to visualize human resource information from across the globe, assign the right people to the right positions, and realize more sophisticated development and management of human resources. In addition, by using this system to standardize business processes, we will enhance the quality and efficiency of our human resource operations and services and increase business profitability and employee engagement.
