Mitsubishi Chemical Group Earned “Top 10% S&P Global ESG Score 2022” in S&P Global's Sustainability Rating

Mitsubishi Chemical Group Corporation (MCG; Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Jean-Marc Gilson) announced today that it has earned for “Top 10% S&P Global ESG Score 2022”, in the sustainability ratings, “The Sustainability Yearbook 2023”, issued by S&P Global of the U.S.
 
Each year, S&P Global evaluates the sustainability of the world’s leading companies in the three dimensions of economy, environment and society. It rates companies with excellent evaluation results in each sector according to their scores, which are published in a Sustainability Yearbook. For 2022, approximately 7,800 major global companies in 61 sectors were evaluated, with 708 companies selected as the top performing companies.
In the global Chemicals sector, MCG earned 81 out of 100 points, ranking 4th in the world and securing its spot in the top 10%.
 
The MCG Group believes its selection resulted from a high evaluation of our various initiatives to address environmental and social issues and the disclosure of appropriate information. These measures are in accordance with our group’s Purpose, “We lead with innovative solutions to achieve KAITEKI, the well-being of people and the planet”.
